Reith im Alpbachtal in Tyrol
The flower village on the Reither Kogel Mountain
Reith im Alpbachtal was chosen by the Entente Florale Europa as Europe's most beautiful flower village in 1979. If it were possible to win the award more than once, Reith surely would have taken the prize again. The residents are still committed to decorating their old farm houses with opulent flower displays. It creates an idyllic, friendly picture which makes our guests immediately happy upon their arrival, especially because the picture is "framed" by the mountain peaks of Reith's own mountains, the Reither Kogel, Eidersberger Horn and Sonnwendjoch.
Time seems to stand still in Reith im Alpbachtal...
...and that's exactly what bestows a special charm on your holiday. You can experience this charm authentically in the Hotel Kirchenwirt. There's a touch of previous times in the lovingly cared for old "Stuben", built in 1616. Today the Kirchenwirt is a 4* superior spa, pleasure and dance hotel and the residents still come on a regular basis.
Tyrolean traditions in the flower village Reith
As our guest you are right in the middle of whatever is happening in the flower village Reith, be it a village festival, a procession, the annual cattle drive or Austria's most beautiful vintage car festival. The 4*S Hotel Kirchenwirt is right in the middle of the village in a quiet area, next to the attractive church "zum Heiligen Petrus" (baptismal font from the 12th century)
You can observe the pleasant goings-on in our neat village directly from our lobby or guest garden. Reith was mentioned as a settlement for the first time in 976 and from the 15th to the 19th century there was a significant silver and copper mine.
